Hi, my name is Ronald Keith Fraser. I am 71 years of age and I am the founder and director of New Direction Care Ministries Ltd., which works with youth suicide and drug prevention. I have never put together a profile of myself, you often hear about people being profiled in movies and police reports. So, there is a question that you have to ask yourself at the end of this profile, and that will be, “Who am I?”
In relation to all the information on this website I want you to take into consideration, that you could have two Harvard university professors who did the same class and the same subjects and have different opinions because they are individuals with different experiences. So, what I am saying is that I am not being politically correct. You should do your own studies and read the word of God for yourself.
I was raised on a pineapple farm at Beerwah, just an hour north of Brisbane, on approximately 40 acres. You may know where this is, because that is where the Australia Zoo is today, yes, the Irwin’s purchased the land off my parents over a 5-year period. I am one of a family of 9 boys and 2 girls.
I am 183 cm tall, I have a beard and not a lot of hair. I love Jesus, I love to study His word, I love carpentry work, I love plants, I love horses, I love open spaces. I love to worship God. I love operating machinery like excavators, and dozers, and backhoe. I listen only to Christian music but on the occasional time of backsliding, I’ll listen to country and western music. I love to see people break out of their insecurities and come into their purpose in God.
For 11 years I could not talk properly and I could not pronounce any words because I had a piece of skin tying my tongue to the bottom of my mouth. I learned nothing in nine years of schooling. I went to a bush children's home at age 11, where the skin was cut away from my tongue and then I had to have speech therapy for 3 months. I had massive migraine headaches, so, I had to have a lumber puncture operation to drain the excess marrow off my spine.
I was called all the names under the sun at school, like stupid, idiot, moron, backward, just to say the least. When I was 11 years old, I was the same height as I am today 183 centimetres, yes, I was big for my age. I left school at 13 ¾ years old, and got my first full-time job working on a poultry farm. My job was looking after 20,000 baby chickens, 30,000 laying hens, and 30,000 young pullets. They would call me Dr Ron, or the doc.
When I was growing up my brothers and I picked tobacco, and that would leave a nasty nicotine stain all over your clothes, and all over your arms and all over your legs. I think I made a decision back then that I would never get a tattoo, praise God, because I thought tattoos look dirty. It was like having a nicotine stain on your arm permanently.
I spent three weeks in a wheelchair in hospital, when I was 16. My two legs were burned with chemical burns from when we were spraying the tobacco, and I lost all the skin off both legs. I did fruit picking in Victoria, and picked grapes in New South Wales. I picked pineapples, watermelons, pumpkins, rock melons, and macadamia nuts, just to name a few.
In 1971 I got my car, motorcycle, truck, and semi-trailer (which is class HR licences as heavy combination.) I worked in the sugarcane, driving hall out of tractors in North Queensland, and I worked on a railway from Ayr to Bowen in 1973-74.
I rescued 2 kids from a flooded Elliot River at Guthalungra North Queensland, In January of 1974. I travelled around Australia in March 1974 and I worked for three months at the BHP Steel works In Whyalla South Australia, and then I went up to Western Australia and worked on the railway from Dampier to Tom Price for six months. So, if you want a railway build, I am your man.
I came back to Ayr in north Queensland in 1974 and then I became a drug dealer and a drug user. It was marijuana at first, then I progressed through to mushrooms, LSD, speed, cocaine and finally, heroin. I received a bravery award from the Royal humane society of Australia, from the governor general Sir Colin Hanna in July 1975, at Government House in Brisbane Queensland Australia, for rescuing the 2 kids from a flooded Elliot River.
I got a job in the sugar mill as a fireman on the sugarcane locos, and then in November of 1975 I got my OIL Locomotive Driver Certificate. When I was a drug dealer, God spoke to me out loud and gave me instructions on what to do. I got busted for marijuana and got fined 500 dollars, in March of 1977. God had saved me from a jail sentence.
Then I gave my life to Jesus on the 24th of August 1977 at about 9pm. I move to McKay in May 1978, I got a job working on a sugarcane farm in Mackay where I had free housing with the job. I got married in December 1979.
In 1980, I got my Plant Operator ticket, for B, D, E, which is for the end-loader ditcher and tractor.
I got sick in May of 1980 and was transferred to the Brisbane hospital for specialist treatment. I was unable to walk and I was in a wheelchair for two months. I had double vision and my left eye would not open. I was diagnosed with, “Myasthenia Gravis.”
I got back to McKay and my wife and I separated on the same day that my father died. I came home from work about 9:00 am and the house was empty and she was gone. She took everything except my clothes. I got divorced in 1983.
The farm work finished, so I got a job operating excavators, and backhoe, and driving trucks. I then got a job on the McKay city council. I got married again in McKay in 1984 and I was the father to two step children and my wife and I lost two children to two ectopic pregnancies where she lost both her tubes, so we have two kids in heaven.
In 1988 I got my Plant Operator ticket, for 7-A-1, “backhoe.” In 1990 I got my Plant Operator ticket for 7-A-2 and 7-B, excavators and a front-end loader. We moved to Brisbane in the middle of Expo 88 in 1988 and separated in November of 1990. We were divorced in 1993. I lived under a ping-pong table for 6 months at a friend’s place to help out, until I could get my life back together.
I then became my own boss in 1991, installing staircases. In 1992 I did a drug-arm street van volunteer training course. In 1992 God delivered me from the hatred of women. In 1993 God delivered me from parental-inversion.
I went to America in March of 1993, for a leaders conference Sam 93, where they spelt my name wrong on my name tag, and they had Ron Eraser, instead of Ron Fraser. I took over the singles group in 1993. I started the Healing Wholeness Restoration and Hope, seminars and camps in 1993. I started a 4 years Basic Training Course, for Counsellors in 1993.
In 1994 I did the training course Level 1 for counselling. In 1994 God delivered me from anger. In 1995 I did the training course level 2 for counselling. In 1996 I did the training course level 3 for counselling. On the 24/12/1996 I registered a charity, called New Direction Care Ministries LTD.
In 1996 I learned computers. In 1997 I did the training course level 4 for counselling. In 1997 I did the train the trainer course. In 1998 I did the School of the Prophetic, and in 1996 to 2000 I was running a youth group and running the Training for Life program, and in 2000 I did the dealing with co-dependency and abuse course.
In 2000 I closed down the charity and I lost everything, but God gave me a house to live in for 12 months free of rent, a car to drive, and a job driving an excavator. God is good.
In January 2001 I went to Western Australia and got a job operating 40 and 75 ton excavators, building a 40-acre tailings dam. We had between four, and nine , 40 tone excavators on side at any one time, along with, dozers, water trucks, dump trucks, and rollers.
After six months in August of 2001, the Lord told me to go back home to Brisbane in Queensland. When I got home God gave me a house to live in, and a car to drive, and I went back installing staircases, working for myself again, praise God.
That year I went to Mr Clark Taylor's Church, and that year I got my bus licence, and met up with an Australian preacher, who did a lot of work in the USA. So, in March of 2003 I got to go over to America and work with him for 3 months. At the end I had some time to do some preaching myself.
My first lot of meetings was in the barber shop, in Binghamton in upper State New York, where I booked 3 nights, and I did 3 other meetings in that state. And then my last two meetings were in Minneapolis Minnesota, one was at the church that I was staying with.
My last meeting was one of the most powerful meetings that I have ever been in, (and I have been in a lot) it was at team challenge, were I had electricity coming out of my fingers, and people going everywhere as the power of God just fell and devils were coming out of people everywhere, it was just fantastic.
Then it was back to Australia, where I found a house, and back to work installing staircases. I went to a church called “the fireplace” until the end of 2005. That was when I entered into a decade a wandering around being a nomad because I was betrayed at the last church, and it was hard to get the trust back.
In December 2008 I went on a world trip by myself for three weeks. In 2009 I built two websites and lost $30,000. In 2010 I wrote my goal setting book so I wouldn't have any excuse not to get out of bed. In 2012 I declared bankruptcy because I couldn't pay my debts. In 2012 I moved about 1,700 kilometres to Mareeba in North Queensland.
In December of 2014 my mum was sick and I packed up and moved back to Brisbane. In 2016 I registered another charity and I built two websites. In October of 2016 God told me to write my story, to right my testimony, so I wrote down what I thought God wanted me to write.
In 2017 I got sick and I was in and out of hospital for six months. I couldn't walk, I had to use a wheelchair, and I couldn't make coffee. I was diagnosed with microscopic polyangiitis which is vasculitis. In 2018 my mother passed away. I don't know if she accepted Jesus as her lord and saviour, I did my best, I think. In 2019 God told me to move back to Mareeba and be there by a certain date and I got there with two hours to spare. God provided me a housing commission home in Mareeba, it is a very nice place.
I got into Mareeba on March 31 2020, I spent 2 years, making it my own place to feel like home. At the beginning of 2022 God wanted me to separate myself under him to finish writing the book. Well, the one book has multiplied into many books, and then I built a website, with many commentaries, with bible study, with teaching, and with music, most of which I did not set out to do, but the whole purpose of anything we do, is to know, “Did God say,” to you to do what you are doing, because the devil said to eve, “Did God say?”
So, the question for you is “Who am I?”
